Retailing has been my passion ever since I started as a Saturday Girl at Marks and Spencer in York. I subsequently trained as a buyer and worked for such diverse companies as the Coop and Austin Reed. When I was offered the opportunity to open a shop at Cedar Farm in Mawdesley I leapt at it, and Etcetera opened in 1993. It was a immediate success and twenty years on, it has gone from strength to strength, expanding twice on its original site.
Etcetera allows me to indulge my passion for fashion, and all things fashion related. My customers are a joy who seem to enjoy the interactive experience we offer at Etcetera, as not only do we have our fingers on the current style pulse, but we also offer style advice at our regular coffee mornings and workshops. Our customers are never pressurised into buying but are gently introduced to new looks which we think will flatter and make them feel wonderful.
We stock many famous clothing labels, Masai and Olsen are just two, but Etcetera has a well earned reputation for having an eclectic range of fabulous accessories; it would be impossible not to find that perfect scarf or a beautiful bracelet to set off a special outfit. We love a challenge at Etcetera.
Our customers also benefit from our beautiful location; nestled in the countryside Cedar Farm offers wonderful food, coffee, a children’s playground and an unparalleled range of independent shops, with monthly Farmers and Vintage markets and free parking at all times. What’s not too love?
